WhatsApp for Android Testing Message Translation Feature with Google Technology
A well known feature called tracker has claimed that WhatsApp is now testing a brand new feature that will allow users to translate their incoming messages into different languages. This will be a live translation feature and is intended to work through the feature of on-device processing and it may also use Google’s one of the best live translation technology. This information was recently reported in the latest beta version of the WhatsApp Android application. This development was introduced just after the discovery of another feature found in the beta version of WhatsApp. This feature is the one that allows the live transcription of the incoming or outgoing voice messages.
The live translation of messages in whatsapp android application
According to a recent research report, there is a live news translation feature which works on the device, which means the data is first stored locally on the device instead of sending the information to a cloud server. This allows the users to translate their incoming or stored messages on the various messaging platforms. This feature was introduced in WhatsApp for the Android users in the version 2.24.15.8.
Users will first need to download the language package to gain access to this feature. Initially it will only implement English and Hindi languages, but at a later stage more languages will be supported. The Feature trackers predict that the translations in the chat could take place automatically. This means that the users do not have to exit the application in order to receive the SMS translation.
The feature tracker also talks about the fact that the option of live transcription is still under the development procedure and therefore is not available right now, even to beta testers. Therefore, the users who are using the latest version of WhatsApp on their Android devices, that is Beta version downloaded via the Google Play Beta store may also not be able to access it.
